“The Brennan Farmhouse”
Oil on panel
8”x10”, in Victorian 13"x15.5" antique gilded frame

This painting has been nominated by the Poe Baltimore Museum, for the 2023 Saturday Visiter Award.

In this painting, the spirit of Edgar Allan Poe appears over the Brennan farmhouse, once located in Manhattan where 84th St. is now. Edgar and his wife, Virginia moved there in 1844. Virginia’s spirit stands at the door, while Poe’s Raven perches on a sign at the side of the house.
Many believe that Poe’s most famous poem, The Raven, was written in that farmhouse, but we are uncertain. A charming painting to illuminate your magical world.

Painted by June Ponte, winner of the 2020 Poe Saturday Visiter Award, given by the Poe Baltimore Museum.
